transcript: "Resolution to provide servants for the use of the university:Resolved by the President and Trustees of the University of Alabama that the Executive committee be authorized to employ and provide for such servants, not exceeding two, as may necessary for the use of the university.
Passed Dec. 20, 1838.
Resolution concerning the boarding of servants belonging to the University in the Hall. Resolved that whenever any servants in the employment of the University shall board at the steward’s hall, the services of the servants in the Hall shall be considered a full compensation for the board.
Passed Dec. 18, 1838."
