"Thomas was not present at the examination above mentioned – excused himself in a note to me saying that he had two recitations that day. He has time enough, however, to be in town nearly every night till a late hour – and often in the day – sometimes thrice a day.
I learn by j u p, p w c i. from p c o that he was so drunk in town last Friday night that he vomited largely, and gave a negro boy of Dr. Owen’s 2 bits to remove the filth from his clothes – I shall enquire."
