On, or before the first day of January, 1847, I promise to pay, or cause to be paid to Mrs. Arabella T. Prince, Guardian of Tuskaloosa, Ala, one hundred and ten dollars, for hire of a negro man named Ned, or Edmund, till the said first day of January 1847: it being understood that he the hirer is to be at no expense for clothing the said servant.
