"Be it ordained by the Board of Trustees that an appropriation of three hundred dollars be is hereby made to be paid out of the contingent fund for the purpose of paying for the hire of Colege servants during the year 1842 & that the President of the University be & is hereby authorised to hire the necessary servants at a cost not exceeding the aforesaid sum"
