Judge J. J. Ormond
My Dear Sir,
I am willing to take Jim on the terms you propose, provided I may deliver him to you, if it should so turn out that I am unable to procure nails to keep our workmen employed, and to pay pro rata, for the time actually in our service. The probabilities are very remote of a necessity to stop work, but I do not wish to organize a force so large as sure way begun in that regard –
I am very Truly Yrs.
L. C. Garland"
